Bermane Stiverne stepped in – looking grotesquely out of shape - and was destroyed inside one round by the WBC world champion.
After that explosive win, Wilder used his post-fight interview to call out WBA and IBF king Anthony Joshua.

But AJ has his hands full with WBO boss Joseph Parker next up leaving Wilder – who has just copped a community service sentence for marijuana possession – free to smoke the fat Cuban at the second time of asking.

The shallow pool of talent in the heavyweight division means Ortiz has got another chance – with another proven doping offender Alexander Povetkin another one nearing a title challenge.

Wilder – who has never been accused of doping or taking drugs for sporting gain - received a 30-day suspended sentence and two years of probation for the June bust.

The heavy handed star was ordered to perform the community service at a local YMCA.

Wilder's lawyer, Paul Patterson, said his client had given his car to friends while to use while he was away.

Patterson said: "We respect the court's ruling.

"All in all it's a lesson learned for Mr. Wilder not to leave his many vehicles in the care and custody of numerous people or allow them to use them while he is out of town.”
