Critics had questioned the Olympic champ's credibility before his career-defining win over Wladimir Klitschko.
The Ukrainian took the fight to Joshua in the middle rounds but was ultimately stopped in the 11th by the Watford-born fighter.
Joshua, 6ft 6in, slightly taller than Parker at 6ft 4in, also has a longer reach than his New Zealand opponent - 208cm compared to Parker's 198cm.

Parker, who turned professional in 2012, is ranked seventh.
He won the WGO heavyweight belt in 2016 after beating Andy Ruiz and has held the title ever since.
