THE SHIELD were left red-faced at a WWE Live Event after botching their signature triple power bomb.

Fears were sparked over the health of Dolph Ziggler as the Hounds of Justice failed to execute one of their spots in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins had raced to the ring as The Showoff and Drew McIntyre launched an attack on Roman Reigns during his match against Braun Strowman.

The trio managed to gain the upper hand after saving the Big Dog as Ziggler found himself alone in the ring with the fearsome faction.

The Shield set up a table inside the ring and tried their famous powerbomb, attempting to send Ziggler crashing through it.

However, rather than shattering the table, he sickeningly just bounced up off it.

Ziggler, appearing to be in pain, stayed on the canvas for some time after the mishap.

But the Raw tag-team champion, who holds the gold with McIntyre, was able to eventually get back to his feet before receiving another beat down.

Universal Title holder Reigns is due to defend his gold against Strowman at the upcoming Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

Shield member Ambrose has just made a triumphant return from a serious long-term injury while Rollins suffered a nasty blow on last week’s Raw at the hands of their rivals.
