WWE news: Sasha Banks and Bayley desperate to make history as new Women’s Tag Titles are announced

SASHA BANKS and Bayley are desperate to write their name into the history books by becoming WWE’s first-ever Women’s Tag-Team Champions.
It was confirmed on Monday Night Raw the new titles were being introduced into the female division with the inaugural winners set to be crowned at Elimination Chamber on February 17.
Three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown Live will step inside the dreaded Chamber to determine the first women’s tag champs.
Individual glory is naturally wanted by both women, with Sasha’s immediate focus being on capturing the Raw Women’s Title from Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble.
But she and her partner Bayley both exclusively sat down with SunSport in New York in October to reveal how much they wanted to get their hands on the latest piece of gold on offer.
Banks said: “I would love to have the tag team championship.
“I’d love the consistency of always being on the show, having multiple segments and opportunities to show what us women can do.
“I wanna have unbelievable matches on Raw, and I want that every single week – that’s my goal.”

Bayley also admitted her No.1 aim at the moment is to ensure it’s her and Sasha who have the belts around their waist come the conclusion of Elimination Chamber.
She said: “Obviously I’d love to have a match with Ronda as being the champion is the dream, but I’m hearing so much about the tag team titles and that’s kind of what my focus is on.

“That’s something I never even thought about as a kid being a tag team champion, I just wanted to be a the women’s champion, but now that’s a possibility and I have a partner I want to do these things with – that’s my focus.
“It’s hard wrestling as a tag team because you have to worry about your partner as well. It’s such a different kind of animal to take on rather than a regular singles match, it’s a different art form that I’m still learning about, but it’s enjoyable.”
Banks, who could possibly go in to WrestleMania as double champion if she is successful at the next two pay-per-view shows, added: “That’s the goal right now.
“There’s only one championship for the women’s divisions on Raw and SmackDown and we want something to fight for.
“If we are given the opportunity to have tag matches every single week, we are fighting for something, so it really means something behind our matches. That’s really the next big step.”
