India vs England – day 5: England lose eight wickets in 140 minutes to collapse to 158 all out and lose Second Test v India
India crush feeble England to win by 246 runs and go 1-0 up in the series

ENGLAND tumbled to defeat in the Second Test here on Monday when they lost eight wickets in 140 minutes.
It turned into a nightmare fifth day as no England batsman was able to offer any sort of prolonged resistance.
What a shame for England after all the good work by Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed the previous day as the openers gave them at least a sniff of saving the match.
England were dismissed for 158 and lost by 246 runs. India go 1-0 up in the series with three matches to play.
The pressure exerted by the Indian bowlers on a surface offering turn and uneven bounce was too much for England.
It was clear that captain Cook’s dismissal to what turned out to be the final delivery of day four was a terminal blow.
Ben Duckett, who has struggled so desperately against spin in the opening two Tests of this series, was dismissed by Ravi Ashwin again for a duck.
The chunky Northants left-hander attempted a sweep shot but succeeded only in gloving the ball into his thigh pad and giving wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha the easiest of catches.
Moeen Ai did not even wait for the decision when the ball ballooned off his bat and pad into Virat Kohli’s hands at short leg. He simply turned and walked off.
Ben Stokes was bowled by beauty from off-spinner Jayant Yadav that drifted into the left-hander in the air and then turned away sharply off the pitch.
Any lingering hopes for England were surely extinguished when Joe Root was nailed lbw by Mohammad Shami for 25.
The vice-captain was persuaded by non-striker Jonny Bairstow to ask for a review but he must have known he was out. Sure enough, the review showed three red lights and Root was a goner.
Then Adil Rashid was caught behind flapping at a short ball from Shami.
