Chelsea boss Frank Lampard tells Hudson-Odoi to copy Sterling’s example in order to thrive

CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI has been told to watch Raheem Sterling if he wants to become the best.
The message comes from Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who is giving his blossoming winger, 18, some tough love.
Ahead of hosting Brighton today, Lamps said: “Sterling’s an incredible example of a player with great talent whose work ethic added to that.
"The improvement he made through absolute dedication to become a complete player we’re wowed by.
“It’s a great model for Callum as he has those talents, too.
“I want him to be the best, as he has that potential, and a lot of that means offering hard truths.”
Sterling, only 24, is a two-time title winner and boasts three League Cup triumphs and FA Cup glory since joining Manchester City in 2015.
Lampard came down hard on Hudson-Odoi in Wednesday’s 7-1 Carabao Cup rout of Grimsby for not pulling his weight.
He scored on his return from a long-term Achilles injury but Lampard will not let him coast after tying him down to a new five-year 180,000-a-week mega-deal at Chelsea.

The Blues legend warned: “I have to say it as I see it.
“Callum has such huge talent, hence why we were so keen to get him signed up.
“But there’s a lot of work to do. He must listen — and he will.”
