ANDRE GOMES will undergo surgery today after suffering a broken and dislocated right ankle.
The Everton midfielder, 26, was rushed to nearby Aintree hospital yesterday after picking up the gruesome injury.
He was taken off on a stretcher following a tackle by Spurs star Son, who was given a red card and left the field in tears.
And the Toffees released a statement last night giving an update on the Portuguese star's health.
It read: "Andre Gomes will undergo surgery tomorrow; he was taken to Aintree hospital, accompanied by club medical staff.
"Tests confirm he has suffered a fracture dislocation to his right ankle."
Son broke down in tears after his mis-timed tackle on Gomes led to his injury.
The traumatised South Korean was initially going to be awarded a yellow card for a foul on the 26-year-old.
But Martin Atkinson upgraded it to a red as medics rushed to the aid of the Portuguese ace.

A Premier League statement said: "The red card for Son was for endangering the safety of a player which happened as a consequence of his initial challenge."
It appeared that Gomes' leg got caught in the turf as he landed awkwardly in the 78th minute.
Son's tackle forced him to ground, with Serge Aurier then colliding with the former Barcelona ace just as he hit the deck.
