Despite a move to Spain dominating talk of the 28-year-old's final year at Chelsea, rumours of other potential destinations were touted at one stage.

However in an interview with , former teammate Rob Green revealed that Hazard gave Bundesliga champs Bayern short shrift.

He said: “Eden ruled it out.

“He was like ‘I’m not going there because my brother Thorgan is playing in Germany. It would change to Eden Hazard and his brother.

"He basically meant that his brother there may be known as Thorgan Hazard and not just referred to as Eden Hazard’s brother.

"That might come across as a hint of arrogance, but it was a generous gesture.”

Thorgan Hazard at the time was playing for Borussia Monchengladbach, but he sealed his own big-money move to league rivals Dortmund this summer.

The 26-year-old signed for Chelsea not long after older brother Eden, but he left west London having failed to make a single senior appearance.

Thorgan Hazard has since endured a mixed spell at Dortmund, notching four goals and eight assists over 23 games.
