Sevilla coach Unai Emery plays down talk of becoming Everton boss
Trophy-winning Spaniard says he’s happy to stay with Europa League champions amid speculation of Goodison vacancy

UNAI EMERY won’t be filling the managerial vacancy at Everton – or so the Sevilla coach says himself.
The 44-year-old, who has guided his side to three consecutive Europa League titles after the 3-1 win against Liverpool, has played down talk of him replacing fellow Spaniard Roberto Martinez.
Martinez was sacked earlier this month but Emery appears happy to stay in Spain rather than moving to Merseyside.
The Toffees are already believed to have sounded Emery out, but the man himself played it cool when asked about the speculation over the Goodison Park job by Spanish paper Tu Periodico Deportivo.
Emery, who has a year left on his contract, replied: “I’m very good at Sevilla.”
Whether it stays that way remains to be seen, despite Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo insisting Emery will stay at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
With Emery, who was overlooked by both Newcastle United and Aston Villa last summer, ruling himself out of the running, the Everton search continues.
And the field includes Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, Frank De Boer, who is a free agent after leaving Ajax this month, and former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
