The Chilean previously wore the No17 shirt at the Emirates

The Chilean star’s future has been the subject of much speculation, with Bayern Munich linked to the forward, among other teams.

However, one day after Arsenal tweeted a picture of Sanchez in his new No7 squad number, a switch from No17, he has done the same on photo-sharing site Instagram.

While Sanchez didn’t add any words to his message, preferring to keep things cryptic, fans were delighted by his visual statement.

Sanchez was able to take over the No7 shirt for the 2016/17 Premier League season after Tomas Rosicky left the club.

Sanchez’s international team-mate and Bayern playmaker Arturo Vidal has already tried to lure the forward off to Germany.

Last month, the German giants - who have recently added Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels and Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches to their ranks - were reported to have made tentative enquiries about Sanchez.

The 27-year-old star has two years left on his current £130,000-a-week Gunners contract and has been offered an increase up to £160,000.

Sanchez has made just 25 League starts for Arsenal this season due to injuries

The former Barcelona star joined the Gunners from the Catalan club in July 2014 for £33million.

He hit the ground running in England, scoring 16 goals in 35 League appearances.

However, this season has been more testing for the forward with hamstring injuries restricting him to just 25 top-flight starts.
