Euro 2016: Harry Redknapp blasts FA chiefs and backs Glenn Hoddle as England boss
Redknapp was left in shock after Three Lions' chastening Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Iceland and admits he has no confidence in the right man being appointed for the job

HARRY REDKNAPP has blasted bungling FA chiefs for their botched appointments - and backed Glenn Hoddle to return as boss after Roy Hodgson stepped down in disgrace.
Redknapp was left in shock after England's chastening Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Iceland and admits he has no confidence in the right man being appointed.
England under-21 boss Gareth Southgate is the current bookies' favourite.
And that is an alarming prospect for fans desperate for the FA not to appoint another hugely uninspiring 'company man' with no history of success.
Redknapp says he has "no chance" of getting the job.
But he has backed Hoddle - who he worked with at QPR - provided technical director and former West Brom exec Dan Ashworth and does not appoint another former Baggies gaffer.
Redknapp told talkSPORT: “One hundred per cent, I would bring back Glenn Hoddle to manage the England team.
“I think he’s got class, he knows the game, he’s got a vision of how he wants people to play, he’d want them to play from the back and encourage them.
“He’d work with the boy John Stones, who I think has been written off a bit at the end of the year – he’d been right up Glenn’s street and come out and play from the back.
“Whatever system we play, I just think Glenn’s got a bit of class and he’d be perfect.
“The game is being run by academics at the top level and Dan Ashworth will choose the next manager again – maybe there’s someone at West Brom we can get back in again!
“Most of these academics have never played the game.
“Gareth Southgate is a good man and I like him but he hasn’t really got the experience.
“But Glenn is your man. Gareth is red-hot favourite but how is he more qualified than Sam Allardyce or Steve Bruce.
“I think Glenn is ready and deserves another chance.
“I’ve got no chance, I don’t fit the bill for them."
The former Prem boss also slated the performances of England players who were incapable of getting a result against Championship performers.
Redknapp added: “No disrespect, but we should be walking all over teams like Iceland. Look at their players; they’ve got lads from Charlton, lads who can’t get in the Cardiff team.
“It was a bitter disappointment. I honestly thought we’d beat them three or four-nil.
“I look at our squad and we’ve got good players, I don’t care what anybody says.
“You look at some of the other squads in the Championship and they don’t compare to our squad of players in my opinion.
“The problem is we’ve got no identity to how we play. We don’t have a system.
“How do England play? I don’t know really. Teams change and system changes from game to game and no one could actually name the team before the first game.
