The shocking incident took place during a match between third-tier Guatemalan sides Deportivo Chicacao and Deportivo Oberena de Escuintla.

A video showed the Chicacao ace accidentaly bump into ref Sergio Castaneda, who reacted by sending him off for violent conduct.

Pedroza immediately flew into a rage and unleashed a violent attack against the official.

He had to be held back by team-mates and opponents as the ref tried to get off the pitch.

The linesmen can be seen running to help their colleague but Castaneda dramatically collapsed in obvious pain.

Pedroza finally left the pitch but was arrested and is set to appear before a magistrate.
