Premier League is awash with silly haircuts – and the top five culprits have had a mixed start to the season

IT'S out with the blonde and in with the top knot.
This season has already seen some particularly iffy barnets in the Premier League - and the dreaded man bun looks to be making an unwelcome return.
Here's five of the best/worst - and how they've fared since the summer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
WE start with a man who can effectively do no wrong - except when it comes to his lid.
With four goals since his summer switch from PSG, Ibrahimovic is the new darling of Old Trafford and has made the biggest impact of Jose Mourinho's four summer signings.
He's always been a flowing locks sort of guy - and he sported a top knot in France last season, hitting 51 goals in all competitions.
We're a bit concerned that the Swede may start a trend.
Andy Carroll
TALKING of big, powerful strikers with dodgy hair...
Carroll is back and playing again after a torrid time with injuries and everyone at West Ham is hoping they can keep him fit as they look to turn around a slow start to the season.
Hair wise though, gone is the set-it-free, Ginola-style mane we saw during his time at Newcastle - in it's place a neat, scrunchy man bun.
The last time you let your hair down Andy, Liverpool bought you for £35million. Just saying.
Jermain Defoe
SINCE his return from the MLS last season, Defoe has proved that he can still cut it with the very best.
He netted 18 goals in all competitions and has two already this term in three starts.
But those new locks. We're really not sure about this one.
Defoe never did have that much hair, so the tiny little bun which appeared from nowhere in training today was a bit of a shock.
Roberto Firmino
WHEN the Brazilian arrived in the Premier League, he had a quiff that would make Morrissey proud.
And he's hit the ground running at Liverpool, fast becoming one of the most exciting young players in the top flight.
But the new top knot? We're definitely not sold.
It's certainly got a bit more lift than it's rivals, but it's got a little bit of the Alberto Moreno's about it (which this season isn't exactly a good thing).

Raheem Sterling
SAY what you want about this effort that Sterling unleashed after the Euros - because he's a completely different player to the one we saw in France.
Okay, that may be more down to the influence of Pep Guardiola.
But with two goals and assists galore in his first five games of the season, the former Liverpool flyer is playing with a smile on his face again.
