ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC was so keen to link up with Paul Pogba at Manchester United this summer that he threatened to break his agent's legs if it didn't happen.

The Swede star, 34, joined Jose Mourinho's United on July 1 and was forced to wait weeks for the deal to be done with Serie A side Juventus.

With the ever-outspoken Zlatan getting frustrated with the lack of activity, he threatened Mino Raiola - who also represents Pogba - with serious actions.

And it was Raiola who revealed the terrifying discussion with Ibrahimovic when speaking to Dutch outlet de Volkskrant.

Re-living the conversation, he revealed Zlatan barked: "Don't transfer Pogba elsewhere or I'll break your legs."

While Pogba struggled somewhat to find his feet at Old Trafford, he excelled in United's 4-1 crushing of Leicester on Saturday - netting the fourth with a header before half time.

The Frenchman was given more license to control the game in the absence of Wayne Rooney - dropped after a shocking start to the 2016-17 campaign - with the move paying dividends.

Before the game, Raiola made the decision to reveal Pogba's best position to the world - perhaps in a dig to force Mourinho into allowing his client to thrive.

Raiola said: "Pogba still has to find his place in the team.

"My preferred position for him is left attacking midfielder.

"With his power, stamina and technique... Pogba would be unplayable in that role. But Mourinho takes the decisions."
