That's the claim in Spain as the Atletico Madrid striker, 35, eyes a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.

Then-manager Ronald Koeman notoriously hurried legend Suarez out of the Nou Camp two years ago.

But the Uruguay hero showed he was still world class by promptly spearheading Atletico to the LaLiga crown - while Barca floundered in a financial crisis.

Now El Chiringuito reporter Jose Alvarez Haya says Suarez 'would be willing to lower his salary and adapt it to the needs of Barcelona'.

It's understood Atletico are unlikely to try to renew his deal at the end of the season.

And it's clear Suarez would love another stint with his dream club Barca.

After three glorious years with Liverpool, he reached new heights at the Nou Camp from 2014-2020.

That included forming arguably the greatest ever three-pronged attack with Lionel Messi and Neymar.

But Barca began to crumble, peaking with an 8-2 home loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

And Koeman promptly told Suarez he was part of the old brigade who must go.

The former Ajax ace responded perfectly with his move to Atletico.

His 21 goals in 32 league games helped dethrone neighbours Real Madrid.

But with Neymar at PSG and Messi now also gone, Barcelona fans would love at least one of their fantastic threesome back.

And according to Haya, ''Barca know that Luis Suarez wants to return... and has told him to wait."

That means a free transfer return could be just weeks away.
