Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla confident that manager Arsene Wenger will stay on at the club after this season

Santi Cazorla believes the long serving manager will stay beyond the current campaign with Arsenal after being linked with the England Job

SANTI CAZORLA has no reason to believe why manager Arsene Wenger will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Wenger has been linked with the England job and has yet to clarify what his plans are at the end of the campaign.

Should Gareth Southgate not be offered the England job come May then many have backed the Frenchman to take over.

After celebrating his 20th anniversary with the club last weekend Wenger has shown no signs of slowing up with his hunger and desire for the game is still as strong as it was when he first became a coach.

Cazorla is also hoping to stay at the club with his manager but has yet to receive and a new contact offer with Atletico Madrid circling around the Spaniard.

Cazorla said: "The boss has not indicated that this will be his last year, not at all".

"The truth is we do not have that feeling in the dressing room. He is fully focused on this season and I do not know what he is planning for the future.''

"Today I do not rule him continuing another season, because he has not said he will leave.''

"It is in his hands and he is the one who has to make the decision, but today I would say that he may continue."

Arsenal have managed to put an opening day defeat to Liverpool behind them and now find themselves third in the table just two points off the top.

Wenger will be hoping his players can stay injury free during the international break as the season begins to take its course with more Premier League and Champions League commitments.

The clubs record with injuries in the past has been a contributing factor the demise of the Gunners hunt for their first title since 2004.
