HOWARD WILKINSON is a surprise advisor to the FA over their appointment of the new full-time England manager.
The former Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday boss - twice caretaker manager of the Three Lions - is part of the FA’s selection panel.
Interim coach Gareth Southgate is certain to land the job full-time barring a humiliating loss against Scotland at Wembley tonight.

Yet it is a massive surprise that the former England under-21s boss is helping FA chief executive Martin Glenn and FA technical director Dan Ashworth.
Wilko, the man behind the building of the National Football Centre at St George’s Park, is a major fan of Southgate and wants him to secure the job - but is also advising the FA on alternatives.
He took charge of England’s senior team after the departures of both Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Keegan.
The 72-year-old is the last man to win English football’s top flight with Leeds in 1992.
