Current NBA champions the Cleveland Cavaliers - including star man LeBron James - spend the most money on wages at an outrageous £6.54m per player, per year.
MLB outfit the New York Yankees splash out £5.81m, with another basketball giants - the Los Angeles Clippers - third at £5.78m.
Barcelona are the next-biggest spenders on the wage front - fifth in the world - at £5.64m, while Manchester City come in ninth on £5.42m.
Chelsea (£4.51m), Arsenal (£3.71m), Liverpool (£3.01m) and Tottenham (£2.68m) are the next highest-spenders in the Premier League.
Conversely, the lowest-spending club in the top flight are Burnley, who shell out only £950,000 per player, per year on wages.
