Black Cats and Tigers match briefly shrouded in darkness during tense Premier League clash in north-east

SUNDERLAND and Hull's match was briefly delayed as a power outage at the Stadium of Light caused temporary chaos.
Players were ushered off the pitch and fans were forced to use mobile phones as makeshift torches when all the floodlights turned off during the second half.
David Moyes and Mike Phelan were both left bemused as the Black Cats led 1-0.

But order was quickly restored as the lights came back on and Lee Mason gave the thumbs-up to continue playing.
Sunderland will be hoping the ironic incident doesn't hinder their chances of getting a result.
The north-east giants are bottom of the Premier League right now.

Sunderland only won their first league match earlier this month against Bournemouth and will now be looking to hold on for a second successive victory.
