ARSENAL host Southampton on Wednesday November 30 in the EFL Cup quarter-final — and here’s all the information you need to know.

This is the only domestic trophy to elude Arsene Wenger in his 20 years in charge of the Gunners.

While, the early elimination of the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea will give Claude Puel a sniff of success with Southampton.

The pair met earlier in the season at the Emirates with the hosts earning their first home victory of the season — winning 2-1.

However, the Saints knocked the Gunners out in the League Cup third round with a shock win in North London two seasons ago.

Team news

The Gunners' injury list soared to eight in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

Olivier Giroud and Mathieu Debuchy picked up worrying hamstring problems while Theo Walcott’s knock seems more minor.

Defender Debuchy told boss Arsenbe Wenger his injury was “a severe one”.

Frontman Lucas Perez is in contention after recovering fastr than expected from an ankle problem.

Sofiane Boufal and Steven Davis are tipped to return to the Saints' squad after missing the 1-0 home win over Everton on Sunday through illness

Josh Sims, who set up Charlie Austin's weekend winner at St Mary's after just 41 seconds of his debut, seems certain to retain at least his place int he squad.

Reserve goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and especially Dusan Tadic are doubtful but boss Boss Claude Puel is still likely to include many senior players.
