John Stoned?

Manchester City’s John Stones the only player to be drug-tested after shambolic 4-2 thumping at the hands of Leicester

Pep Guardiola's Premier League title-chasing side were ripped to shreds by Jamie Vardy and Co in Saturday's evening game

SATURDAY was a day to forget for Manchester City's defenders.

Pep Guardiola's defensive ranks shipped two goals in the opening five minutes of the game against Leicester and at one stage were 4-0 down, thanks to a Jamie Vardy hat-trick.

While Aleksandar Kolarov and Nolito chipped in with two late consolation goals, John Stones for one will be hoping to put the clash at the King Power Stadium behind him.

Not only did the England man ship four goals, he was also at fault for the Foxes' fourth - and Vardy's hat-trick strike - when his back-pass fell hopelessly short of the target.

£50million man Stones was then seemingly the only player to take part in the game to be selected for a drugs test.

The incident was caught on Leicester's 'Tunnel Cam'.

The club footage first of all shows Guardiola storming into the visitors' dressing room.

Stones is then hauled to one side, looking utterly perplexed by the random call, before Claudio Ranieri makes a cameo appearance... Naturally looking delighted by the day's proceedings.

Heading into the game, Leicester looked like utter no-hopers, struggling in the Premier League, perilously close to the drop zone.

Meanwhile, City - despite looking in patchy form in the past few weeks - were flying high in the top four looking to close the gap on league-leading Arsenal, who had earlier overtaken Chelsea on goal difference thanks to their 3-1 win over Stoke.

However, the big win for Ranieri's side - fresh from their 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Porto in the Champions League - moves them up to 14th on 16 points.

Leicester are now four points above the relegation zone, giving them some much-needed breathing room... And perhaps more importantly, a timely shot of confidence.
