JAN VERTONGHEN limped off IN TEARS after injuring his ankle against West Brom.
The Tottenham defender slipped near the sideline and was seen punching the ground.
After rolling his ankle close to the sideline, Vertonghen immediately signalled for help.
He began pounding the turf while he was being seen to by medical staff.
Vertonghen then needed to be escorted off the White Hart Lane pitch by club doctors but struggled to hide his emotion, with the defender fighting back tears.
He was replaced by Ben Davies.
The Belgian defender, 29, has been excellent for Spurs this season.

He has started all but one Premier League game this season for a Spurs side that have the best defensive record in the division.
The injury was a black spot on a brilliant Tottenham performance that saw Harry Kane score a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over West Brom.
Speaking after the game, Mauricio Pochettino admitted he was "very disappointed".
He told Sky Sports: "It looks bad, but we need to wait until tomorrow or Monday.
"He's very disappointed, he's in a very difficult period.
"We will push him to recovery [as quickly as we can] and try to help him."
