He became the fastest Spurs player to score 60 goals for Tottenham on 99, beating Teddy Sheringham's record of 107 games.

The hat-trick also means that Kane has 62 Premier League goals in 102 matches (he played three for Norwich City on loan without scoring).

That's two fewer games than Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, the fifth-highest goalscorer in the Premier League, took to reach the same number.

Kane, who became a father last week, now has 15 goals on the season, following a prolific two years that saw him score 28 last season and 31 the season before.

Kane has scored goals in loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall and Leicester - he also has five England goals.

It was the third hat-trick of his career, a tally that takes him level with Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane in the Premier League era.

The striker said: "It's been a whirlwind of a week. The birth of my daughter, a hat-trick and a 4-0 win.

"You don't get many better weeks.

"One of the best performances as a team since I've been in a Spurs shirt.

"It was 4-0 but could have been six or seven."
