He is now 4/7 on NOT to be in charge of the Foxes' Champions League last-16 second leg at home to Sevilla on March 14.
Ranieri's axing - after guiding Leicester to the most surprising Premier League title success ever last season - sparked fans' fury and outrage from pundits.
But his successor faces a relegation battle this term amid claims that player-power cost Ranieri the dressing-room and then his job.
Ex-Switzerland, Inter, Fulham, West Brom and Liverpool boss Hodgson, 69, has not managed since quitting the Three Lions following their Euro 2016 last-16 exit against Iceland.
But William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: "The money that we are seeing for Hodgson at the moment suggests that he is target number one."
Former Baggies' midfielder Shakespeare was the Foxes' assistant chief until becoming temporary boss last week.
He began Tuesday as 5/4 favourite to earn the job permanently but just hours later was 5/2.
Yet Shakespeare's only game in charge so far was Monday night's superb 3-1 victory over Liverpool, lifting Leicester two points and three places above the drop zone.
