Roy Hodgson could be in line for a return to management after holding surprise talks over the vacant Leicester job

Interim boss Craig Shakespeare is also firmly in the mix after the Foxes' 3-1 win over Liverpool

ROY HODGSON has been sounded out about a sensational return to management with Leicester.

The former England head coach has already held talks with Foxes bosses before they went on to beat Liverpool 3-1 on Monday.

Hodgson would have bounced back into the game if they had not beaten Liverpool on Monday night.

Now it is expected that he will have to wait for Saturday's clash with Hull, followed by the Champions League second leg with Sevilla, before Leicester make a firm decision.

Interim boss Craig Shakespeare is desperate for the job after Claudio Ranieri was sacked last Thursday.

Shakespeare, who is popular with the players, has swayed the owners after their impressive win over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the King Power.

But Hodgson, who is experienced in survival battles with West Brom and Fulham, is the man in the frame if they decide against Shakespeare.

Hodgson has been itching for a return to frontline management ever since he quit following England’s shameful exit from Euro 2016 against Iceland.

The former England head coach wants one last job and has made it clear that he wants to take over the champions.

Shakespeare did his chances some good with the nature of the win over Liverpool and he has made it clear he wants the job full-time.

Influential backroom staff, including head physio Dave Rennie, are also backing Shakespeare to take over.
