Manchester City set to land Benjamin Mendy in coming week after Tottenham blocked move for Danny Rose
City looking to have Monaco defender on the books before they head to the United States for their pre-season tour

MANCHESTER CITY are getting hotter and hotter in their pursuit of Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy.
Having persuaded Tottenham to part with right-back Kyle Walker for £55million, City were also keen on his fellow defender Danny Rose.
But Spurs dug their heels in on that one, leaving Pep Guardiola to return to the idea of signing Mendy instead.
And the reports that Guardiola is now ready to pay £50m for Mendy before City leave for their pre-season trip to America later this week.
Mendy, apparently, is very keen on a move to the Etihad.
The French international, aged 22, helped Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season but has made it clear he now wants out.
He was left OUT of the Monaco pre-season squad that travelled to Switzerland.
Mendy has been a Guardiola priority for months after impressing in Monaco’s brilliant Ligue 1 winning campaign and the club’s run to the Champions League semi-final.
