The Blades triumphed against Brentford in their first game back in the Championship after being promoted from League One last season.

A first half strike from Billy Sharp sealed a 1-0 win for Chris Wilder's men at home, while Middlesbrough lost on the road.

Monk, taking charge of his first official match for his new side saw his team lose 1-0 to Wolves at Molineux.

Britt Assombalonga failed to live up to his £15million price tag, and will be looking to net for the first time in the colours of Boro.

Middlesbrough have lost their last four games in all competitions, while United have won their last six.

Sheffield United will face Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, August 12.

The game kicks off at 5.30pm. 

It will be Garry Monk's first league game in charge of Boro.
