CARLO ANCELOTTI had five senior players turn against him that led to his Bayern Munich departure, according to the club president.
The Italian was axed by the Bundesliga giants after their 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
But club chief Uli Hoeness has claimed it was not just a run of poor performances that led to the former Chelsea boss' demise.
He told Westfalenpost: "There were five players against Ancelotti.
"It was impossible to get out of that."
Club legend Willy Sagnol will replace sacked Ancelotti on an interim basis until the end of the season.
He is expected to take control until the end of the current season, with 30-year-old Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann on the club's radar for next year.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti could return to AC Milan as the Italian club have reportedly been in contact.

He won two European Cup's with as a player and two Champions League titles as a manager and would be welcomed back with open arms.
Journalist Mootaz Chehade tweeted: "AC Milan have made first contacts with Carlo Ancelotti over a possible return to his former club."
Vincenzo Montella is currently at the helm of the Italian club, but is under pressure as his side continue to flatter to deceive despite bringing in over £175million worth of talent.
