JERMAIN DEFOE set Twitter - not to mention Selhurst Park - alight with a phenonemal volley that echoed the days of Marco van Masten.
Defoe made it 2-2 for Bournemouth against Crystal Palace with his 200th career goal.
It was so good that it was reminiscent of famed Dutchman van Basten's super goal in the finals at Euro 88 against Russia.
Cherries' boss Eddie Howe put his faith in free signing Defoe to start this game over his other impressive forward Callum Wilson.
Defoe's run off the ball in the third minute of first half extra time was fantastic.
As the ball was played over the top by Lewis Cook, Defoe ran onto it before lobbing the ball from a tight angle over Palace keeper Julian Speroni.
Believe me, the great van Basten would not have turned his nose up at this goal.
Defoe obviously needs to keep his scoring rate up if he wants to bag a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
But he did his no hopes no harm with this wonderul piece of opportunism.
Van Basten stunned the Rusisan in 1988 in Holland's 2-0 final triumph.
The evergreen 37-year-old Arnold Muhren ran onto a pass on the left wing after 54 minutes. The Ipswich Town player whizzed over a hopeful, floating ball into the box which looked to have evaded everyone.
Not van Basten, though.
With the ball dropping towards the byline and at a seemingly impossibly tight angle, Van Basten met it.
His right foot connected perfectly to fire a ferocious volley over the head of Soviet goalkeeper Rinat Dasayev and into the far top corner.

Defoe joined Bournemouth at the start of the season from Sunderland having been unable to keep them up despite his goal scoring prowess.
He hit 15 goals for the Black Cats before joining the Cherries, who were hoping he could replicate this type of form for them.
Well, he's on his way...
And he has scored a brace in each of his last three Premier League appearances against Crystal Palace, his longest such run against a single opponent.
