Both players challenged for the ball, with the League One ace missing the ball and instead gave the Ghanaian international a nasty whack on the back of his head.

The 28-year-old instantly fell to ground, as medics rushed to his aide as he required treatment on the pitch.

While Sadler stood up and received attention, failing to let his nasty wound get the better of him in the third round contest.

The duo were able to soldier on after a two minute play halted proceedings.

And immediately after the break-in-play, Sadler almost netted the opener, but was foiled by Hammers goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The 32-year-old burst his way through David Moyes' defence, but his low stroke was saved well by the England shot-stopper.

But the clash of heads wasn't the only nasty injury in the match, as West Ham youngster Josh Cullen had his tooth KICKED OUT of his mouth after receiving a boot to the face by Abu Ogogo.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock in Shropshire, with both clubs settling for a replay at the London Stadium.
