David Wagner insists he will not let talk over his future derail Huddersfield Premier League survival bid
German has been linked with a move away from the John Smith stadium but claimed talk of a switch is "boring"

DAVID Wagner insists he will not let ‘boring’ talk over his future distract from Huddersfield’s Premier League survival fight.
But him staying is not linked to the Terriers avoiding relegation.
And Wagner admits Town have an advantage over their rivals at the bottom of the table - because everyone expected them to be there.
The German is being linked with several clubs both in England and his homeland as his current deal expires at the end of next season.
Talks with Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle over a new deal have started but that is very much lower on the priority list than staying up.
And Wagner will not allow any speculation over him to affect his side as he said: “To be totally honest, it’s boring isn’t it?

“It’s very easy. First of all we have to do our job but my future isn’t linked to what happens.

"I have another year on my contract, whether that’s in the Premier League or the Championship.
“We have to be focused on getting a second season in the Premier League. That’s the only focus.
“We’ve had these conversations possibly 10 times over the last two-and-a-half, three years – it’s more or less routine.
“It’s all about Premier League status as last year was all about the play-offs. That’s why we’ve agreed, ‘Let’s do the job, then we’ll go into detail.’”
Huddersfield are at Newcastle on Saturday. The Toon are only one point ahead of Wagner's men so this is another key fixture.

And Wagner believes the lack of expectation on the Terriers before a ball was kicked is becoming a good thing, giving them an edge over their other battlers as they are not wearing a ‘backpack’ of pressure.
