Spain icon becomes second active player to reach landmark as Sergio Conceicao's men fall to shock 2-0 loss at Belenenses

IKER CASILLAS made his 1000th career appearance — but it was a night to forget as Porto fell to a potentially damaging 2-0 defeat against Belenenses.
The 2010 World Cup-winner made history as he became the second active player after Gianluigi Buffon to reach the incredible landmark.
Casillas, now 36, made his professional debut for Real Madrid in 1999 and has the record number of appearances in the Champions League.
He became the youngest goalkeeper to play in a final — just four days after his 19th birthday — in 2000.
The iconic stopper is one of the most decorated footballers in the game's history and holds another impressive record many people don't know about.
Casillas is the footballer with the most international wins of all-time, tasting victory 121 times for Spain.
