AC MILAN legend Franco Baresi paid tribute to Ray Wilkins before the derby with Inter by holding up a shirt with his name and number to the crowd.
The former England midfielder sadly passed away, having been in a coma since Friday following a cardiac arrest.
Wilkins played for Milan from 1984 to 1987, and Baresi ensured that there would be a moment to remember him.
The ex-defender went to the curva sud behind the goal where the Milan fans were with a wreath, which he laid down before them.
Baresi then pulled out a shirt with "Wilkins 8" on the back, and held it up to the Rossoneri supporters.
Milan fans showed their appreciation as they applauded the gesture from one of their greatest-ever players.
Immediately after the sad news of Wilkins' passing, Baresi paid his respects with a touching message on his official Twitter page, along with a picture of the two of them together.
It read: "In these moments you never know what to say, but it has been an honour having had you as a team-mate. You were special, a gentleman on and off the pitch.
"Thank you Ray Wilkins. RIP."
Milan also paid their respects, with a message which read: "Goodbye Ray, you will be missed: tonight we're gonna fight like you taught us!"
