EVERY Premier League club playing on Saturday has paid tribute to the late Ray Wilkins by holding a minute's applause before their respective games.
The former England captain, 61, passed away on Wednesday in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
From Brighton to Stoke, clubs paid homage to the former Three Lions international, with many showing a picture of the midfield general, during his playing days, on their big screens.
Fans were encouraged to stand for a round of applause which lasted a minute.
Wilkins had a successful and nomadic playing career, captaining England on 10 occasions while winning 84 caps.
He also represented clubs of the stature of Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Rangers with distinction.
He always maintained his closest links with boyhood club Chelsea, serving as a trusted and loyal lieutenant to several managers during the latter years of glory at Stamford Bridge.
And the Blues will celebrate the life and career of Wilkins with a series of tributes before their game with West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The club will hold a minute’s applause before kick-off, while players will wear black armbands.
