Who is Shahid Khan and why has Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars chief pulled out of Wembley deal with the FA?

SHAHID KHAN was set to buy Wembley from the FA in a deal worth around £1billion.
But the 67-year-old Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars owner has now stunned English football by pulling out of the controversial purchase.
The multi-millionaire was set to pay £600m up front with plans seeing the FA keep Wembley as the main home for major matches including England internationals and the FA Cup final.
The FA planned to use £500m to put into grassroots projects around the country while Khan hoped to move his NFL franchise to Wembley.
Who is Shahid Khan?
THE 67-year-old was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and moved to the USA at the age of 16.
When he first moved he stayed in a room at the University of Illinois Y-YMCA at $2 per night and worked as a pot washer.
While at university Khan worked at Flex-N-Gate - automotive manufacturing company - and after graduating with a BSc in Industrial Engineering he was hired as the engineering director for the company.
In 1978, he started Bumper Works which made bumpers for customised pickup trucks and in 1980 he bought Flex-N-Gate to combine the two.
He became a US citizen in 1991.
Why has he pulled out of the deal to buy Wembley?
An FA statement said: "Earlier this year, The FA received an unsolicited official offer from Shahid Khan to buy Wembley Stadium. It was a very credible offer and was given very serious consideration.
"Shahid Khan has informed us today that he will be withdrawing his offer to buy the stadium – and we fully respect his decision.
"Mr Khan believed that his offer to buy Wembley Stadium would release funds to help improve community football facilities in England and that it would be well received by all football stakeholders.
"At a recent meeting with Mr Khan he expressed to us that, without stronger support from within the game, his offer is being seen as more divisive than it was anticipated to be and has decided to withdraw his proposal."
What is Shahid Khan's net worth?
AS of August 2017, he was estimated to have a net worth of over $8.7billion - £7.5bn.
On the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans, he is ranked 70th and he is the 158th wealthiest person in the world.
On top of this he is also ranked as the richest person of Pakistani origin.
When did he marry Ann Carlson?
Khan met his future wife Ann Carlson (now Khan) in a college bar and they dated for over ten years.
They got married in 1977 and have two children together.
Tony Khan, born in October 1982, is the eldest son and is currently the senior VP of Football Technology and Analytics for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Daughter Shanna is the co-owner of the United Marketing Company in Chicago and got married at the Plaza in 2015 to Justin McCabe.
How did he become the owner of Jacksonville Jaguars?
BEFORE showing interest in the Jacksonville Jaguars, he enquired about buying the St Louis Rams in 2010.
This deal never went through and in November 2011 he purchased the Jaguars from Wayne Weaver and his ownership group.
When the sale was finalised in January 2012 it made him the first ethnic minority to own an NFL team.
The Jaguars have been part of the NFL international series held at Wembley since 2013 and have recently extended their deal until 2020.
In October 2018 they will face current NFL champions Philadelphia Eagles.
When did he become the Fulham owner?
IN July 2013, Khan bought the then Premier League side, Fulham, from Mohamed Al Fayed.
It is estimated the deal was worth between £150-200million.
Son Tony is also listed as the co-owner of both Fulham and the Jaguars.
