Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins and widow Jackie were living apart prior to his death… but were ‘on the verge of getting back together’, says son Ross
Jackie said to be 'devastated' after ex-football star suffered a fatal heart attack earlier this month, despite secret separation

CHELSEA legend Ray Wilkins and his widow Jackie were living apart prior to his death... but were "on the verge of getting back together".
Jackie was left "devastated", according to their son Ross, after ex-football star Ray suffered a fatal heart attack earlier this month.
Ross revealed Wilkins' close family held a private funeral this week, with a source close to the family confirming the pair's separation.
A source told the Mirror: “Ray and Jackie had been having a tough time and he had been living away from home the last few months.
“But they were still in contact and it was obvious neither of them had ever stopped loving each other.
“They were due to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary later this year. Jackie is absolutely devastated by what has happened.”
Son Ross had his say on his parents, adding: “Everyone has their demons, but they’d found a way to deal with their problems.
"They were on the verge of getting back together, which makes it all the more tragic.”
