Barcelona suffer double injury whammy with Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes both doubts for La Liga kick-off
Catalans had the worst possible start to pre-season as midfield pair both limped off within three minutes of each other against Tottenham at the Rose Bowl

BARCELONA have been hit with two injury blows ahead of the La Liga season.
The Catalans were dealt the double whammy in their first pre-season match against Tottenham.
And the blows to Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes could lead to Ernesto Valverde dipping in to the transfer market before they kick-off their title defence against Alaves on August 18.
Both incidents occurred within three minutes of each during the first half of the International Champions Cup clash last night.
Suarez and Gomes each suffered hamstring injuries during the 2-2 draw at The Rose Bowl.
Portuguese international Gomes was the first to be withdrawn and is expected to be out of action for at least two months.
And now Valverde is left sweating on Spaniard Suarez as Barcelona anxiously wait to discover the extent of his damage.
The Nou Camp chief said: “It was the worst news of the night for us.

“It's possible that we'll lose them for the remainder of the tour.
“It will depend on the extent of the injuries.”
