Everton 3 Rotherham 1: Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin double for Toffees to ease into Carabao Cup third round
There was never a chance of an upset at Goodison Park despite Marco Silva making eight changes from the side that drew with Bournemouth last Saturday

MARCO SILVA’S Everton revolution is gathering pace and this clash proved Goodison Park fans are becoming believers again.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s opener and a Dominic Calvert-Lewin double saw off Rotherham — but it was the attendance that really proved how firmly the home faithful are backing the new manager.
The crowd of 31,972 was the biggest for a second- round clash in the League cup since a 4–0 win over Tranmere Rovers in 1968.
Last season saw disillusion and despair in the stands as fans bemoaned Sam Allardyce’s negative tactics after he took over from Ronald Koeman.
But Silva promised a return to a more attacking style.
While the defeat of the newly promoted Championship side was hardly champagne football, it showed Silva is starting to get it right.
