Manchester United and Man City suffer blow in pursuit of ‘new Nemanja Vidic’ Nikola Milenkovic
Fiorentina defender has caught the eye of Europe's big guns with a series of impressing displays for the Serie A and Serbia

MANCHESTER UNITED and City target Nikola Milenkovic has dismissed claims he is set to move to the Premier League.
Fiorentina’s Serbian centre-half, 20, has been dubbed “the new Nemanja Vidic” after his stunning form for club and country.
That has reportedly led to both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola joining a growing number of Europe’s big guns in plotting a swoop for the star.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are all also keen on the defender, but the youngster insists he is happy where he is.
When quizzed on the speculation over his future, Milenkovic told : “It’s pleasing, but I am not thinking about it.
“I’ve got my feet on the ground, believe in professionalism and am focused only on improving every day, glad to wear the Viola jersey.
“Fiorentina are the ideal club for a young player to grow up and I am very satisfied with my choice to play here. If they were to offer me a new contract, we could talk about it.”
Milenkovic shone for Serbia at the World Cup this summer and joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade back in 2017.

His performances have led to comparisons with his fellow countryman and United legend Vidic – but the ace insists those are way off the mark.
Milenkovic, who helped Fiorentina to a 2-0 Serie A victory over Atalanta on Sunday, added: “I don’t like comparisons to other players, as I want to find my own path, but I will say my hero has always been Nemanja Vidic.”
