Xhaka could not always nail down a place under Arsene Wenger, but in Emery's set-up the Swiss international has started every league game.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, he said: "We needed some time to get to know the character and philosophy of the new manager. It is going well and I am improving.
"On a tactical level, the manager has really helped me. But we can still improve."
Xhaka and Arsenal return to Premier League action against Leicester at the Emirates on Monday next week.
