BAYERN MUNICH'S crisis season has hit a new low after Franck Ribery allegedly slapped a TV reporter after defeat at Borussia Dortmund.

The reigning Bundesliga champions, who have tasted title joy for six successive years, suffered a crippling setback on Saturday against their rivals.

Marco Reus twice drew Dortmund level after Robert Lewandowski scored two against his old side before Paco Alcacer fired in a late winner for the hosts.

The result left Bayern seven points behind the leaders - but the five-goal thriller was not the main talking point at Signal Iduna Park.

Reports emerged today that 35-year-old winger Ribery was involved in an altercation after the game with renowned French journalist Patrick Guillou.

And now the Bavarian club have confirmed their long-server attacker was caught up in an incident with his fellow countrymen.

Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told : "Franck Ribery has informed us that he had an altercation with his compatriot Patrick Guillou, whom he has known well for many years.

"We agreed with Patrick Guillou that we would speak at a personal meeting, we will talk about how we can solve the matter, and Mr Guillou has already signaled that it is in his interest."

The German publication reported eyewitnesses claim Ribery slapped an insulted the journalist in a furious attack after the defeat.

He was believed to be fuming after Guillou blamed the attacker for two of Dortmund's goals in the setback.

Guillou is an ex-footballer who now works for as a TV expert on the game and for Qatar radio station beIN Sports.

Ribery's wife Wahiba berated him on Instagram after his comments blaming the ace for two of the goals.

She posted a message calling Guillou "boring and useless".
