Tottenham look to poach Andre Gomes from Everton with Barcelona midfielder ready to delay permanent move
Spurs chief Daniel Levy is fighting to cling on to Mauricio Pochettino and may finally back him in the transfer market

TOTTENHAM are hoping to steal Andre Gomes from Everton with the Barcelona midfielder ready to delay a permanent move to Merseyside.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is fighting tooth and nail to cling on to boss Mauricio Pochettino - who's wanted by Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Poch's heroics in Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Barcelona to see the Londoners progress to the Champions League last-16 have only boosted his reputation.
Now Levy has finally realised he will need to back the Spurs boss in the transfer market - and may sanction a bid for Gomes.
The Portuguese playmaker, 25, is currently on loan at Everton from parent club Barcelona.
His strong form have seen the Toffees orchestrate a potential deal to keep him on Merseyside on a permanent basis.
But now Tottenham are set to swoop in and ensure they land their man - having failed to sign a single player in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this week, Danny Rose revealed he is not surprised Pochettino is a wanted man after his incredible tenure at the Premier League side.
Rose claimed: “It’s no coincidence every day you read Real Madrid want him or United want him. It’s exactly what he deserves.
“What he has done here in the last four or five years has been amazing. Not only for myself but the club."
