ALEX IWOBI seemed to not know what formation Arsenal were playing against Brighton as he replaced Mesut Ozil at half-time.
Iwobi replaced Ozil in midfield at half-time and the Nigerian international was captured on television cameras asking team-mate Granit Xhaka what formations Arsenal were playing.
He appeared to ask Xhaka: “What formation are we playing.”
Arsenal would go on to draw the game as the league’s top goal scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring before Jurgen Locadia equalised.
Unai Emery started the game with Arsenal donning a 4-1-2-1-2 formation with Ozil playing just behind strikers Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal reverted from their usual 4-3-3 formation for the diamond set up against Burnley last week.
The Gunners picked up a 3-1 win that night with Ozil playing the full 90 minutes in his preferred advanced midfield role - opposed to out wide.
However, Ozil lasted just 45 minutes against Brighton and after the game Emery stated the German was taken off for ‘tactical’ reasons, opposed to because of his performance.
Emery said: "It was only tactically.
"We did before, in other matches also change the idea from the first half with other players.
“And today I did it with Mesut, that is only tactically, not another problem."
