Giroud scores perfect hat-trick and Alonso proves he deserves second Premier League chance in Chelsea’s Europa League win over Dynamo Kiev

French World Cup winner justified international call-up while Spaniard scored and assisted on easy night for the Blues

CHELSEA romped to a 5-0 win in Dynamo Kiev to book their place in the Europa League quarter-finals.

It was an easy night for Maurizio Sarri's men but some impressed more than others.

Here, SunSport runs the rule over which of Chelsea's stars shone brightest.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Brilliant concentration to save Serhiy Sydorchuk's close-range effort having had nothing to do for the first 50 minutes.

Shaky when dealing with crosses.

Davide Zappacosta

The weak link in the back-four. Offered little going forward and gave Dynamo Kiev's players time and space to attack in the few moments they posed a threat. Appeared to pick up a knock and was replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta.

Antonio Rudiger

Precious little to do all night. Didn't give Dynamo Kiev's front men any room on the ball.

Should have threatened the keeper after missing Willian's inviting cross by inches.

Andreas Christensen

Astute defending to catch Denys Harmash offside early in first half, which saw his goal ruled out. But sloppy in possession.

Marcos Alonso

Fantastic cross to find Giroud for the second goal and rarely troubled in defence.

Scored his trademark goal from a centre-forward's position after a clever run from out wide and almost got another but his free-kick was brilliantly saved.

Surely in contention to win back his place in the Premier League against Everton on Sunday.

Mateo Kovacic

Decent in Jorginho's deep-lying midfield role with simple passing and ability to play out from the back.

Seemed to go missing when playing further forward after Jorginho's sub.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Adventurous and showed great skill at times in an advanced midfield role.

Leapt highest to flick on a header for Giroud's opener and almost scored himself after dancing through the Dynamo Kiev defence only for a good save.

N'Golo Kante

Created little in a more attacking Chelsea midfield but easily kept possession.

Rightly subbed off to stay fresh for Everton, with Jorginho replacing him after 65 minutes.

Willian

Great set-piece deliveries with one setting up Giroud for his hat-trick.

The Brazilian did well to free up space for his team-mates having had to deal with being marked by two men all night.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Linked up well with Giroud and his direct runs caused Dynamo Kiev defence problems.

Made a lightning-quick sprint after a give-and-go with the Frenchman to pull back to Alonso for Chelsea's third.

Superb pace and composure shown to score his second.

Olivier Giroud

Justified his France call-up earlier in the day by becoming top scorer in the Europa League this season after a perfect hat-trick.

Scored with his left, right and saved the best for his head. Also played a great through-ball to help set up Alonso's goal, and played in Hudson-Odoi for his second.
