THIERRY HENRY earned a whopping £22million in 2018 - despite lasting just THREE months at Monaco, according to staggering new figures.

Reports in France state the former Arsenal forward, 41, was the third-highest earner amongst bosses in the past calendar - ahead of a host of huge names.

In fact, only Diego Simeone (£35m) and Jose Mourinho (£26.6m) raked in more cash in the past calendar year in a ridiculous twist of fate.

Henry only mustered two wins in 12 matches at the Ligue 1 giants - and left them sitting 19th in the French top flight.

However, thanks to a host of endorsement deals to go with his Monaco pay-off, Henry was still able to watch the cash roll in.

His figure of £22m surpassed even 2017-18 Premier League-winning boss Pep Guardiola, who earned just shy of £21m.

Barcelona chief Ernesto Valverde earned £19.7m, ahead of former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger on £17.6m.

Guangzhou boss Fabio Cannavaro (£12.9), Juventus' Massimiliano Allegri (£11.6m), China chief Marcelo Lippi and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp (both £11.2m) complete the top ten.

But despite a few surprise names breaking into the list, Henry was still the stand-out name.

Leonardo Jardim previously made way for Henry in October, but the former Arsenal striker's reign proved to be disastrous.

It took more than one month for Henry to register his first victory - a 1-0 league win at Caen - but that was one of few moments to celebrate.

Ultimately, Henry lasted just 104 days in Monaco, before he was replaced by the man he took over from initially, Jardim.

Since then Monaco have shown some improvement, now sitting 16th in Ligue 1, seven points clear of the relegation zone with eight games to play.
