ANDER HERRERA stands to trouser a whopping £52MILLION if he walks out of Old Trafford this summer.
The Manchester United midfielder is poised to sign a five-year contract with French giants Paris Saint-Germain worth around £200,000 a week which will make him one of the richest players in world football.
Spaniard Herrera is reluctantly leaving the club he joined in 2014 from Athletic Bilbao having failed to agree new terms.
The 29-year-old will be a free agent come June after five years with the Red Devils, which has enabled moneybags PSG to offer such huge wages long term.
United’s board would not meet Herrera’s request for £160,000 a week which looks set to trigger a parting of the ways.
Herrera and many other leading figures at United believe they deserve some pay parity with striker Alexis Sanchez who is believed to earn around £505,000 a week.
But new permanent boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to let at least four other senior stars leave this summer.
Sanchez, 30, tops the list, followed by defenders Antonio Valencia, 33, Matteo Darmian, 29, and Marcos Rojo, also 29.
Valencia and Darmian will be free agents at the end of the season while Argentine Rojo signed a contract extension last year but has played for just 13 minutes under Solskjaer.
The Norwegian still hopes to keep Spanish playmaker Juan Mata, 30, after his deal ends in the summer.
