FORMER Arsenal star Santi Cazorla was caught on camera crying his eyes out after fluffing a crucial late penalty for Villarreal.
Cazorla, who has been dogged with injuries in recent years, has returned to the club where he started his career after six years at the Emirates.
Villarreal are fighting for their lives and were 2-1 down at Real Betis when they were awarded a penalty with a minute left of normal time.
And up stepped the 34-year-old to seal a vital point for his side.
But his tame effort went straight down the middle, allowing Betis keeper Pau Lopez to hold his ground and make a simple save.
After their incredible 4-4 draw with Barcelona last week, a point would have seen the Yellow Submarine go above the drop zone by a point.
But the defeat has seen Javier Calleja’s side drop into the bottom three below Valladolid on goal difference.
And Cazorla failed to hide his emotions after the game.
A video has emerged of the playmaker outside the dressing room in tears as a team-mate tries to comfort him.
Villarreal have seven games to save themselves starting with next Sunday’s trip to fellow strugglers Girona.
