Zlat's nice for Blues

Chelsea to join Real Madrid in the race for ‘next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ Alexander Isak

Blues considering beefing up their strikeforce and they have turned their attentions to Swedish youngster

CHELSEA are set to rival Real Madrid in the race to sign 'the next Zlatan' Alexander Isak from Dortmund.

The 19-year-old, who has scored 11 goals in 11 games during his loan spell at Willem II, has been likened to Swedish compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Blues are currently exploring striking options in the summer, with Olivier Giroud's future shrouded in doubt.

The Frenchman has been forced to play second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain and last month, he maintained he wouldn't be prepared to settle for a place on the bench.

Aside from that, the west London outfit are currently appealing against a transfer embargo, which if upheld, could prevent them from registering players for the next two transfer windows through to January 2020.

Despite that, the claim the Blues are keeping tabs on Isak and have scouted the 19-year-old several times.

BIG AMBITIONS

It is suggested that Real Madrid are also monitoring the player who has been compared to Ibra for his rangy build.

But any such move, the report adds, would depend on whether Isak's parent club show a willingness to sell.

Isak has already earned four caps for Sweden.

And he's not short on ambition too, admitting he wants to spread his wings.

His recent comments will have no doubt put the Premier League's big hitters on alert.

He said: "I want to play for a really big club in a big league.

"I will see about my near future at the end of this season.”
