TROY AND PAIN

Troy Deeney still in his FA Cup final suit as Watford star heads for night out in Mayfair

Striker and Gerard Deulofeu had haunted look following Manchester City's 6-0 Wembley win as they visited exclusive bar

HAUNTED Watford stars showed the Troy and the pain of their FA Cup final hammering on a night out at an exclusive Mayfair bar.

Skipper Troy Deeney, still in his Wembley suit and white trainers, and Spaniard Gerard Deulofeu had the memories of a 6-0 sickener against Manchester City etched all over their faces.

Even if Hornets stars tried to drown their sorrows, they still wore sober expressions as they were snapped leaving the Novikov lounge bar in one of London's poshest areas.

Hours earlier Watford were the chasers as City ran them ragged to become the first men's team to win the domestic treble of Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus netted two apiece as City survived two scares  before outclassing Watford once David Silva rifled a 26th minute opener.

Ederson had brilliantly thwarted goal-bound Hornets' creator Roberto Pereyra early on.

Then referee Kevin Friend soon sparked controversy by not even referring penalty-box handball claims against Vincent Kompany to VAR.

But after Silva struck gold it was pure woe for Watford.

And while Belgium centre-back Kompany, 33, used the occasion to bow out of the Prem - quitting City after 11 years to become player-boss at his first club Anderlecht - Watford players were left just trying to put the experience behind them.

Deeney, 30, donned the same clothes for his night out that he had on several hours earlier when the Hornets strode out confidently before kick-off at Wembley

But Deulofeu, 25, wore sports trousers and a casual white top to complete a day that gave the Hornets the type of hangover they must have dreaded.
