CLAUDE MAKELELE is one of many Chelsea favourites available to Frank Lampard as the prospective Blues boss puts together his backroom team.
With Maurizio Sarri off to Juventus, the Stamford Bridge legend is ready to step into the dugout after a year at Derby County.
And he is preparing to instil the spirit of his successful playing days by bringing Didier Drogba back to the club with him.
Should he want to continue that theme, former anchor man Makelele has opened the door to his own Chelsea return.
The Frenchman has left his role as manager of Belgian club KAS Eupen and is already looking forward to getting back in the game.
Following his exit, he said: "I would like to thank KAS Eupen and in particular Andreas Bleicher for giving me the opportunity to come to KAS Eupen one and a half years ago.
"I wish my successor good luck and success.
"I look forward to my new role as an ambassador for social projects to help improve the lives of other people and the next sporting challenge."
Is he ready for the job? Well, when is he ever going to be ready?
Drogba on Lampard managing chelsea
Sun Sport understands ex-striker Drogba is right in the mix to join Lampard at Chelsea.
But there is set to be no place for John Terry, and Gianfranco Zola may be axed from his role as assistant manager.
Jody Morris, another former Blues man, is heading with Lampard from Derby.
And Drogba met his old teammate in London before commenting on his chances in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.
The Ivorian noted: “Frank has done well with Derby, you know, taking the team to the play-off final.
“I think it is a very good option for the club.

“If he feels ready I don’t think it is too early. Every summer is big at Chelsea. Every summer is big.”
